A Columbia University graduate, Dr. Mahal is an avid dancer and a golfer in training. He grew up in India in a joint family and he is the youngest of sixteen (16) children. He was seventeen (17) when he started his journey of becoming a dentist. After getting his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Columbia University School of Dental Medicine, and living in Miami and Boston, Dr Mahal and his wife Raman along with their son Ekam called Greater Sacramento home and moved here in 2015 for the amazing weather, great cuisine, diversity, and beauty.
His inquisitive nature and genuine interest in making people smile with happiness and confidence lead him to start his own dental practice in 2015 in the Land Park area. Ever since, Dr. Mahal has been working towards his goal of creating happy smiles. Dr. Mahal loves restorative surgeries, but more than that he loves talking with his patients and connecting with them at the personal level, so that he can understand their needs and goals. Dr. Mahal has provided mentorship to dental assistants and aspiring dentists through externship and observership opportunities at his practice.
Ever since he was in high school, Dr. Mahal has been involved in community work in India by organizing vaccination drives for Polio eradication, arranging blood drives to help the patients suffering from Dengue fever caused by mosquitoes as well as helping other students throughout their dental school journey as a general secretary for student bodies in Amritsar, India.
When not working, Dr. Mahal loves to spend time with his wife, and his two boys - Ekam (7) and Zoravar (5). He enjoys camping, watching movies, going for a walk, and attempting to play basketball with the kids 🙃.
