Future Foundation of Sacramento has impacted the lives of students, our goal to help students attend college and provide guidance. Tahira, Princeton bound and a student in the program, sent the following email to Michael Anderson (Future Sacramento’s President):

Dear Mr. Anderson,

… I want to express my deepest gratitude to you and the entire Board. When you selected me, it was one of the first moments where I genuinely felt seen, valued, and believed in. Looking back, that moment was the spark that encouraged me to aim higher and dream bigger. Your confidence in my abilities gave me the courage to pursue opportunities I once never imagined possible.

If I am able to attend Princeton today, it is in large part because you and the Foundation chose to stand behind me. You listened to my story, saw potential in me, and gave me the encouragement to move forward with boldness. I will always remember that, and I will always credit the Foundation for playing such an important role in my academic journey.

Please extend my thanks to the entire Board. I would love to stay in touch, and I am excited to share updates on my future accomplishments with all of you.

With sincere appreciation,
Tahira” (Scholarship Class of 2024)

First-generation college students have more than the financial burden of college. The numerous obstacles faced by low-income students could derail them from achieving college success even before they begin their first day of class.

First-generation college students blaze a new path, charging forward without role models in their family who can guide them. Future Sacramento scholars are achieving their college dreams because of our donors’ support and the students’ tenacity and exceptional perseverance to overcome obstacles.

Future Foundation of Sacramento is a robust five-year resource backed scholarship for first-in-family college students that creates a long-term connection with each scholarship recipient.
