MISSION

FUTURE Foundation of Sacramento, Inc. provides volunteer mentoring and scholarship funding to local financially qualified students in support of their college education.

IMPACT:

We have given a total of 138 annual scholarship awards, distributing over $760,000 in funding to students.
To demonstrate the effectiveness of our advocacy, our scholars have accessed over $2,000,000 in financial aid funding - including grants and other scholarships, to which the Future Sacramento Scholarship is added.

Our program is unique because we offer:

  • mentoring from high school through college
  • financial aid advocacy for students to receive all grant funding for which they are eligible
  • renewable scholarships for up to five years in college.
  • lessons on money management and financial literacy to teach the importance of responsible financial stewardship.

College Success:

  • 98% high school graduates receive admission to a baccalaureate degree-granting university
  • 91% persist in college through third year (retention rate)
  • 76% college graduation rate – 14% better than national average!
  • 100%: All our graduates earn degrees in 5 years or less,
    faster than the national average of 6 years.
    Even faster, 73% of all our graduates earn degrees in 4.5 years or less!

Our scholarship candidates prepare and meet deadlines:

  • 100% graduate high school
  • 100% complete all necessary financial aid applications
  • 100% access grant funding for which they are eligible
  • 100% retain and renew financial aid each year they are enrolled
