Diana Jordan
Enrolled at Stanford University

Fall 2019 - will enter pharmacy school, continuing her studies at Touro Unversity California in Vallejo

Diana Jordan graduated as Valedictorian from Grant Union High School, May 2018 and headed to Stanford University as the first from her school in more than 20 years to receive admission to such a prestigious university. In college, Diana has been actively achieving and working as a research assistant and several other intern opportunities.

Her story: She is the oldest of four children and the first to go to college within her immediate and extended family. Diana's academic achievements are exceptionally impressive. "Although Grant Union High School is located in a very poor neighborhood, in which the average person makes only around 10,000 dollars a year, it offers a huge amount of AP classes and great opportunities," says Diana about her school. Diana took five honors classes, and she says she took "almost all Advanced Placement classes that Grant has to offer, thirteen to be exact," and passed AP every exam she took. She also earned an A in a community college course the summer before her senior year. Diana was also active outside the classroom. She played volleyball all four years in high school, served as the President of Generation Green Club, and worked for the United States Forest Service as a crew member, Bureau of Land Management as a journalist for the Office of Communications, as well as holding a full time job at McDonalds.

Hector Hernandez
Enrolled at Sac State

Hector is an amazingly motivated student. He blasts through obstacles and chooses to tackle new opportunities each year.

He graduated from Rosemont High School, May 2018 where he was involved in robotics and debate. He chose the local option, Sac State and says he could have not have picked a better college for himself. Through his years in college he has taken advantage of the campus amenities, support services, and activities. He can be found on campus throughout the week in class but also in the library studying, visiting friends at the dorms, and also at The Well for exercise and for as-needed medical support.

Beginning as an undeclared major, he explored a few options before boldly selecting Intro to Computer Science during in his second year. He challenged himself and found he enjoyed programming. "I have always been a logistics person, but I also like to be creative - computer science combines both math and creativity, allowing me to build and create solutions." By his third year, he officially chose his major as Computer Science. After choosing his major a little later than other students, he took advantage of summer school courses to keep on the track to still graduate in four years.

Logan Robison
Enrolled at University of Nevada, Reno

Logan graduated from Consumnes Oaks High School, May 2018 and headed to University of Nevada at Reno. He began college with a major in Business Marketing with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship and management. In high school, Logan was eager to succeed in business. With an exceptionally impressive and dedicated work ethic, he has worked and gone to school since he was 16 - gaining experience and promoting within the same company, Raley's.

Victor Garibay
Enrolled at University of California, Berkeley

Victor graduated from Florin High School May 2018 and then headed to University of California, Berkeley to pursue Public Health.
