Our four new college freshman have now all begun classes, as of yesterday! Jennifer and Monica began at UC Davis and Hsin began at UCI this week. Tatiana has been in classes at UCB for over a month now. (UCB is the only semester UC and so begins much earlier the rest of the UC campuses that are on the quarter system.) All four are enrolled in distance learning from home – very different experience. They all have the Future Sacramento produced academic planner to help them, along with our mentoring support. Here is what the students shared with me:
Monica : “I’m enjoying my subjects so far! I also really like my professors. The scheduled times in the binder you made are super helpful.”Jennifer : It’s my second day and I’m excited!!! I’m really liking my classes so far and although I’m still a little nervous, I am looking forward to a great quarter!
Hsin: “I have been using the binder you gave us to keep track of all my classes and assignments! I’m excited to start but it’s intimidating.”
Tatiana: “The midterms were hard but I got some results in for earlier ones and I’ve done well so far.”
