Dr. Norman Fong

Dr. Norman Fong | California Northstate University

Norman has had a very successful career as a pharmacist. His professional practice spans 50 years in numerous practice settings including hospital, retail, long-term care, clinical, and in administration and management.

After retiring from the Kaiser Permanente and from the Walgreen Drugstores, he transitioned his career into the health/medical education field. He became a co-founder of the California Northstate University which included the start-up of various academic and professional schools in the greater Sacramento County. Four of the most notable programs are the California Northstate College of Pharmacy, California Northstate College of Medicine, and California Northstate College of Dentistry and the California Northstate Nursing School. As well, he was the co-founder of the non-profit organization “Northern California Pharmacy Education Foundation” a scholarship foundation for pharmacy students.

After retiring from the CNU as its Senior and Executive Vice President, he continues serving as one of the co- Founders and as a Board of Director/Manager for the enterprise. In addition to the completion of the new dental clinic in the downtown Sacramento area, their next major undertaking is planning, organizing, and constructing a new teaching hospital/medical center in the Natomas area of Sacramento.
