• 2002 : Founded in concept. Incorporated with the state of California.
  • 2003 : Tax-exempt status received as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization from the Internal Revenue Service.
  • 2005 : Grant Napear began hosting the "Fairway to the Future" golf tournament, and has remained an honorary board member.
  • 2006 : Took the name of the "FUTURE Foundation of Sacramento."
  • 2007 : First group of students were accepted into the College Program.
  • 2008 : Fabulous 500 Gala, first of three annual fundraiser events hosted by Pat Willis at the exclusive former Eddie Murphy estate in the gated Los Lagos neighborhood of Granite Bay, CA.
  • 2010 : First class of students entered college
  • 2011 - 2013 : College program continued to grow annually in student participants, resources, and number of awards given - reaching full program size of two high school classes and five college classes.
  • 2013 : An extensive outreach was conducted to gauge local need for scholarship funding. Over 300 local 10th grade students (of the 430 student applications received) met all of the 5 basic criteria for our program, including significant financial need.
  • 2014 : First scholarship recipient graduated college and earned her degree.
  • 2015 : 10th annual Grant Napear hosted "Fairway to the Future" golf tournament with record net proceeds raised.
  • 2016 :
    • First scholarship recipient earns graduate degree.
    • Masons of California fund a grant to allow Future Sacramento to support six additional high school graduates with new scholarships, financial aid advocacy and mentoring as first-generation college freshman for the AY 2016-2017.
    • 6th profile in Comstock's Region Care magazine, donated annually by Patrick Willis earned Future Sacramento a raffle prize win of $10,000!
  • 2017 : 10th scholarship recipient graduated college.
  • 2018 : Financial-Aid Advocacy program reaches $2,000,000 in other gift aid accepted by our scholarship recipients.
